Earlier today, ASUS Malaysia held an event which took place at MBO Cinema, Starling Mall to announce the arrival of ASUS Zenfone Max Plus M1. Of course most of the consumers have already anticipated this launch as it was publicly announced on ASUS Malaysia’s Facebook page, but most were unsure about the retail price. Surprisingly this mid-ranger costs just RM899 inclusive of GST.
The best part would be the RM200 trade-in rebate program available on selected retail stores, otherwise you can purchase from Lazada to get a RM200 shopping voucher instead. End of the day, you will end up spending a total of just RM699! For a 18:9 ratio smartphone, this is probably the cheapest you can ever dream of getting.
The ASUS Zenfone Max Plus M1 comes with a 5.7-inch display with a 2160 x 1080 resolution. The screen to body ratio is impressive at 80% courtesy of the full view display. The smartphone is almost an all-metal smartphone which looks really premium and people will surely think the smartphone costs more than RM1k. The usual sides are 2.5D curved which makes it comfortable which holding single handed.
This smartphone is powered by MediaTek MT6750T Octa core processor clocked at 1.5GHz while the graphics are powered by Mali T860. Paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, it makes the performance package complete. In addition, you can expand the memory via micro SD card without the need of sacrificing a SIM slot. The Zenfone Max Plus M1 comes with a triple card slot (2 nano SIMs + 1 micro SD card), which not many smartphone manufacturers are offering.
Heading to the camera department, there’s a dual camera setup on the back. The sensor is 16MP with f2.0 aperture while the secondary sensor works as the 120° wide-angle lens for shooting a much wider photos and it looks just fantastic with the full view display!. The selfie camera also comes with a 16MP f2.0 sensor which allows you to take great selfies, unimaginably for less than RM1k. 🙂
Of course this smartphone is 4G LTE enabled as well as comes with Android 7.0 Nougat with ZenUI 4.0 skin. The smartphone is flawless and barely lags thanks to the reduced animation effects. Before heading to the battery section, do take note that you can unlock this smartphone with both fingerprint as well as facial recognition. What else more do you need?
Lastly, the battery capacity is generously capped at 4130mAh which is non-removable and supports reverse charging. ASUS claimed that the battery standby time can go up to 26 hours. We clearly know how good is the battery life on the ASUS Zenfone 3 Zoom, any doubts on this one? Try it and you will surely forget about carrying Powerbank along. This smartphone comes in 3 color variants: Deepsea Black, Sunlight Gold and Azure Sliver.
The conclusion which I would like to hear from you guys, would you get this smartphone which comes with a lot of features as well as massive battery life for just RM899? Feel free to discuss and let me know why should you or should you not get the ASUS Zenfone Max Plus M1.
