Overview
The Asus Zenfone 3 Max, is a gorgeous android phone with a few special feature that only few can offers. It is by default a very practical phone that can take up your everyday tasks without issues.
It comes with a 2.5 curved corner display in a uni metal body design, a common design but now comes with a touch of a flagship. The capacity key is built into the phone body, yet sadly not backlit light. The rocker at the right-hand side of the phone while the sim card slot the other side. and the speaker and USB port at below.
Hardware
The engine of the phone is a Snapdragon 430, which is nothing too out of place for a phone at this price range. 3GB of Ram and 32 GB built-in memory, this is a pretty standard phone specification. But wait we’re getting to the juicy part, the 5.5inch full HD screen is pack with 401ppi, that not allot of pixel cramp together but is definitely give crisp and crystal clear image to this writer’s eyes.
Now so far what we see is that this is a pretty standard hardware at this price range. But bear in mind in this price range, either you’ll get the same processor and ram size, or you’ll end up with MediaTek. Thus what this phone offers is actually quite good, considering the extra feature you’ll get, more on this later.
Battery
We don’t usually write much about the battery, but the Asus Zenfone 3 Max is built with long battery life in mind. With a 4100 mAh juicer build in, this baby can standby for 38 days on 4G, 17 hours talk time, 19 hours of wi-fi browsing, and 72 hours of music playback. This mean those of you seeking for a stable phone, this is an amazing phone for you to consider for.
What makes the phone even more practical, is that this phone is capable of reverse charging. Many might shy away from this function, but if you are a person that used multiple phones, this is an amazingly practical to carry around. If your company is planning to allocate you with a working phone, this is the ideal phone to propose cause not only its very durable, it also can charge up your personal phone when needed.
To back this up with, we ran a full benchmark on the battery life. Typically, for any phone that can last for 8 hours, none stop is good in this writer’s eye, that usually means that the phone is good for 1-day worth. Without surprise, the Asus Zenfone 3 Max is capable of holding up more than that, a whopping 12 hour, 27 minutes on Pc Mark 2.0!
Camera
Packing the status quo, the Asus Zenfone 3 Max have a 16mp sharp shooter with an 8mp front shooter. Now, this is no branded camera from Sony, but on this writer’s hand, it performed exceptionally well. I was surprised by the quality it produces, the image is somewhat on the warm side, but the bokeh produced by this little thing is amazing.
Another added point is the laser focusing. Long have DLSR use lumination auto-focus assist, this helps DSLR to help their contrast based auto focus to better verified the focus. With the incorporation of Laser feedback, the Asus Zenfone 3 Max gain ultra-fast focus confirmation.
Bear in mind, this was originally the selling point of the Zenfone Zoom series, having it to be in the Max series is a pleasant surprise, I won’t goes as far as saying that this phone can replace the newly launch Zenfone Zoom 3, but the Zenfone Max 3 definitely give you a good feel of the Zenfone Zoom 2 build in.
In this link is a test run by Asus them self with a DSLR, it concluded that the Zenfone 2 Zoom focus faster than the Canon EOS 600 in a low light situation!
Verdict
The Asus Zenfone 3 Max is a well-balanced stable phone at this price point. You might be able to find some other offers in the market but to this writer none as good looking and practical as the Zenfone 3 Max!
