Under the hood, the HTC Butterfly 2 is powered by none other than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 Quad core processor clocked at the maximum speed of 2.5GHz with the graphics powered by Adreno 330 GPU. This gorgeous smartphone comes with LTE connectivity which HTC claims to support LTE Category 5, which means download speed is capable of touching up to 300Mbps, that’s first to be in Malaysia, at least for now as rest being Category 4 LTE which only does 150Mbps and of course it all depends on your mobile carrier as here in Malaysia, LTE coverage is very limited.

Cool part of the HTC Butterfly 2, it is a waterproof phone rated IP57 dust and water protection. It could withstand water up to 30 minutes at a depth of 1 meter. You get two powerful built-in amp speakers, the dual front facing speakers ( BoomSound) which HTC claims to be louder than the HTC One itself ( M7 ).

The HTC Butterfly 2 uses a nano SIM and it is a single SIM smartphone. Moving on to the camera, you get the probably best camera till date from HTC, a 13MP main camera which has  aperture of f2.0 together with the Duo Camera where it could capture depth of the entire image allowing you to use their software ” UFocus ” to focus at any part of the image which you would prefer to be focused at. On the front for the selfie lovers , you get a 5MP front shooter with BSI sensor and wide angle lens which supports HDR, same with the rear camera.

This smartphone will be available in two colors, the Canvas white which has a anti stain finish rather than matte finish naming as HTC claims any dirt could be just wiped off from the Butterfly 2, while the another color which is Rouge Red is a glossy back finish. The navy blue color is not available yet in Malaysia and probably might or might not arrive in Malaysia. HTC Dot View case is already available for the HTC Butterfly 2 which is orange and blue colored, while the grey color is about to be introduced as well. Do take note that the HTC Butterfly 2 has no flaps to cover the USB port or even the earphone jack as the waterproofing is done in a really advanced way.

Lastly, the HTC Butterfly 2 gets a non- removable battery with a capacity of 2700mAh ( 100mAh more than the HTC One M8 ) which is already known for its great battery life. According to HTC, the reason being for the HTC Butterfly 2 to be priced about similar to the HTC One M8 is because both of these devices are treated as flagship and serves different type of peoples satisfaction, one who prefers stylish metal design which is slighly heavy as well while the another prefers a lighter and rather active looking design. So what do you guys think? RM2299 is a yay or a nay?

Take note that some of VIPs from Zitron were present in this event as well. So that could conclude that there could be a partnership for both of HTC and Zitron. So probably Zitron would provide the warranty for the HTC Butterfly 2 and future upcoming products from HTC itself.
