You have read it right guys. The long awaited official units of Xiaomi MiPad are now live and kicking officially in Malaysia which will be made available for purchase via mi.com/my on the 10th of February at the fimiliar timeframe of 12PM, so make sure you guys are ready to grab in right on time as we all know how fast Xiaomi products run out of stock.

Do take note that the version that is coming to Malaysia is WiFi only and comes with a storage capacity of 16GB.

Just a quick touch on the specifications. The Xiaomi MiPad comes with a 7.9-inch IPS display and Gorilla Glass 3 protected. Under the hood, you get Nvidia Tegra K1 Quad core processor clocked at 2.2GHz accompanied with 2GB of RAM. As mentioned earlier we get the 16GB variant only for now while the 64GB variant is still unsure if will be made available here in Malaysia. Want to know how great is the Tegra K1 processor? Check out my comparison post here.

Moving to the camera, you get a 8MP main camera and a 5MP selfie camera which is not bad at all for tablet category. The Xiaomi MiPad runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with skin on MiUi V6 while the Lolipop update is rumoured to be not far away. Lastly the battery capacity is set at 6700mAh which seems to be quite a huge juice but I would wonder how hungry the Tegra K1 processor could be in term of performance vs battery consumption?
